REVIEW THE INFORMATION PAGE FIRST

The rescue OFFERS two types of adoption.

Direct adoption is when you adopt a pet & meet the transport company taking your new family member home with their adoption folder. You will receive his/her vet paperwork at time of picking up.

Meet n greet adoptions are IF a pet does not find an adoptive home first, pet has complete/all core vaccines/vetting.

Pups must be 8 wks of age to obtain a health certificate & cross any state lines.  We will not adopt out puppies under 8 wks. The rescue's policy is a min. of two puppy vaccines administered (series of 3) for their health & safety; 14 + days in rescue.

ADOPTABLE PETS START IN FOSTER CARE IN KY/TN; IF NOT, PROFILE INFORMATION WILL BE NOTED.

THIS ALLOWS PETS TIME TO RECEIVE VACCINES, QUARANTINE PERIOD, WORMERS, VET CHECK, HEALTH CERTIFICATE & ANY OTHER NEEDS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED.

THE RESCUE WILL LIST AVAILABLE PETS ON OUR HOME BASE LOCATION, AS WELL AS WHERE THEIR FUTURE FOSTER HOME MAY BE.

DIRECT ADOPTION

If you have found a pet you wish to adopt and can meet transport on a Saturday (general arrival day)

You will need to fill out the application on Step 2 and submit the application fee on Step 3

The rescue will review and process your application then send an email.  (applications are processed in order, also note open hours listed)

Transport dates are issued by an individual company.  The rescue will notify you which trip that a pet is able to go on due to vaccine dates etc.

Direct adopters will pick their pet up from a designated public place issued by the USDA licensed transport company.  You will also receive an adoption folder with vet paperwork.

Scheduled stops are listed on the application, at times there maybe additional stops.

 MEET N GREET ADOPTIONS

INFORMATION ON A MEET N GREET ADOPTION

We do list adoptable pets at future foster locations.

Pets are available for this option IF pet is not adopted first.

If you wish to do a meet n greet adoption, submit an application if the pets profile states the change in foster home location.

Pets who have complete vetting done will be scheduled for a willing foster home; if transport has room on board.

Plus additional funding is available to cover the additional expenses, transport fee.

WHEN A PET IS IN FOSTER CARE UP NORTH THE TRANSPORT FEE HAS BEEN PAID IN ADVANCE.  THE FEE WILL BE ADDED TO THE ADOPTION FEE.

***WE COULD ALWAYS USE ADDITIONAL APPROVED FOSTERS***

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ADOPTERS

Our animals all come from shelters or animals on their way to a shelter that euthanize/kill.  The rescue does not pull animals from puppy mills, backyard breeders, craigslist etc.  The rescue has limited information when it comes to these animals or the parents vetting/medical history if any at all.

All dogs/pups/cats/kittens start in foster care in KY and TN.  The rescue requires all animals to be out of the shelter environment for a minimum of 2~3 weeks before being picked up in KY/TN or placed on transport to go to their new homes.  This is for the health and safety of the animal and the adopter.  As well as other animals on transport from different adoption agencies.  All animals do see a vet prior to this trip and must have a health certificate to travel.  All records/vetting will be in the adoption folder; which you will need to bring to your adopted pets first vet apt.

The animals in foster care are available for adoption (unless pending/adopted is listed next to that animal's name) and can join their adoptive home after second 5 way puppy vaccine is given.   Adoptive homes can pick their adopted family member & adoption folder from the transport company at their scheduled stops/times.  Transport fee's are paid directly to the company at the time of pick up.

Those animals that do not find an adoptive home first will go to foster care up north once all vetting is complete and a willing foster home.  That date depends on if the transport company has room available~ adopted pets will go first, the receiving foster family and if funds are available to pay for the required vetting and transport fee in advance.  If an animal arrives up north and you do the meet n greet adoption the transport fee is then added to the adoption price.

The rescue goes by an outline to get these animals on the track of proper vetting and care.  There is a possibility that a health issues may arise after going through changes, stress etc that were not known beforehand ie kennel cough, coccidia etc.   This may occur here in rescue or once in the adopted homes.  Some animals may require multiple worming with different products but can only be done with time in between or over doing this may cause risk to that animal.  We suggest that each pet is wormed with panacur or drontal approx two to three wks from the last worming on the paperwork in the adoption folder.  (Tractor supply/pet stores/feed stores carry fenbendazole based de-worm which covers all four parasites recommended and less expensive than vet cost)

Adopters who meet transport and pick up their pup help elevate more stress & confusion and bouncing around on the pup/cat.

All potential adopters are required to submit an application for approval.  We will not hand out these families home address/phone numbers for their safety, as well as their time.  If you are scheduled for a meet n greet & home visit please be on time.

The rescue makes all attempts to temperament test animals and give honest information so we can have happy pets and happy adopters.  If you have questions that are not answered on an animal's profile please email us your questions.

***The rescue will quarantine pets for a minimum of two + weeks AND administer a minimum of two 5 way vaccines, rabies 12 weeks or older, but please be aware that kennel cough, etc can take weeks to show. If kennel cough, etc shows prior to transport said pet will have to wait to be transported on another transport at another time. Adoption fee's will be refunded IF AND ONLY the adoptive pet can not receive a health certificate.***
